Life is Short and Life is Long
As I round the corner into my mid-thirties, I know for certain there is so much I don’t know about life yet. But I’ve also taken enough trips around the sun to pick up a thing or two.
Here’s the long and short of it.
Life is Short, and Life is Long
Life is too short not to spend it with the people you love the most.
Life is too long not to count yourself among those people you love the most.
Life is too short not to do the things that bring you the most energy and happiness.
Life is too long to think that you don’t have enough time to do those things.
Life is too short to spend it complaining about things you can’t change.
Life is too long not to try to change the things you have control over.
Life is too short not to eat the pizza.
Life is too long not to at least try the kale.
Life can be cut far too short.
Life can feel far too long to those who feel alone and need help.
Life is too short not to laugh every day.
Life is too long not to learn every day.
Life is too short and too long to not love with your whole heart every day.
Life is not perfect, life is not always fair, life can bring you to your knees.
Life is perfectly flawed, fairly hilarious, and can bring you great joy.
Life is short.
Life is long.
And this life, well it’s our one shot to get it right. Not by anyone else’s standards but our own.
That’s all I know for sure, for now anyway. We’ll see where life takes me.
